I find it quite ironic how furthering education after highschool is meant to improve financial stability for the future. But at the same time if done incorrectly will put a students financial future in jeaprody, due to bad credit and debt. - Russell

"If students miss a payment, our vendor will contact them and attempt to help them get back on track." It is nice to know that at certain colleges, the financial aid directors will contact you if you miss a payment. This way, not only do you have yourself to keep yourself on track but you have someone else watching out for you. -Sarah
It's terrifying that college is something that's drilled into our minds as something we need in life, and because of that; we, as the students, are taken advantage of.
Of the 3 million available jobs today less than 20% require a 4 year degree We're lending money we don't have to kids who can pay it back so they can educate themselves for jobs that no longer exist
College is pushed on high school students by teachers and other adults. It's usually thought of as the best option after senior year, however that may not be the case. The great amount of debt college students are in after they get their degree, if they even get it, is a very important thing to think about when considering what to do after high school.
Its amazing that some collages will go after students that they know will not pay loans and will more than likely drop out of college with out receiving a diploma."Two-year schools are trying to do a better job of giving students the skills they need for jobs that are in demand." This statement shows that more college are push more students to get a two year degree,due to the fact of they know they will not be able to pay for a four year degree and will struggle paying off student loans.-Noah
This article mostly talks about Community colleges and it may not be the case but sometimes kids who aren't sure what they want to do will go to a community college or some parents or teachers will suggest that they go to at least a 2 year school hoping it opens a path way for them. Then the kid gets there and realizes they really don't want to be in college. ~Tim
Its messed up that collages will target students that have a higher chance of dropping out with out the diploma but still have the loans. -Vehjric
