E2 INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES IN FREE MARKETS: Free enterprise is a pillar of the United States economy and is based on the principle that individuals and businesses are free to make their own economic choices as they participate
in these markets. Individuals buy the goods and services that they desire from businesses in the product markets, and they contribute to producing these goods and services by supplying the resources that they own to businesses in the markets. This activity is the basis of our private economy, and our governmental spending programs.

WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome, also, Mr. Eric Knuth, our new Superintendent of Schools!

Plan of the Day:

1. Take out your assignment, "Defining the Entrepreneurial Spirit" and place it upon the desk in front of you. Assignment: Entrepreneurial Spirit

2. We will arrange groups according to interest level.

3. Discuss and answer the following questions - jot them down on a sheet of paper for me to read:

      A. How did the author of the paper you are reading define "entrepreneurial spirit?"

     B. How did the subject of the paper you are reading approach the concept of personal discipline?

     C. What types of risks and chances did the subject of the paper you are reading, take?

     D. How did the subject of the paper you are reading overcome setbacks and adversity?

4. Resumes. I will hand back your resume and cover letter assignment while you are completing #3. I'd like you to imagine that the person you wrote about, and, the person who was the subject of the paper you read, would say about your resume and cover letter in terms of attention to detail and effort. Compose your answer along with #3, above.
